The Faith Diet Review – Bible-based Weight Loss?

The Faith Diet Review

Site: www.thefaithdiet.com

Price: $37

the faith diet reviewWhen it comes to losing weight, most people think they can find a plan that works, go with it, and get the results they need.

Others want a bit more help, and if the help is a divine source, they’ll gladly welcome that.

Simon White, the creator of the Faith Diet, says that his weight loss system is derived from secrets that have been revealed in the Bible, and that these secrets are known to a few but have been shunned and disregarded by the medical community.

White says that he’s a former priest who served as a military chaplain, and that he created this system as a “for Christians, by Christians” system.

According to the Website, the Faith Diet is a #1 best seller in Christianity today.

If you visit the site, you’ll find that there’s little text, as the product is instead explained to you by a video that, unfortunately, has no controls.  You can start it and stop it, but you can’t go forward or back.  How long is this video?  It’s 53 minutes long.

Still, the product sounded interesting, so I thought I’d take a closer look.  Is the Faith Diet a scam, or is the weight loss plan worthwhile?

Main Product
The main product is an 88 page book in PDF format that is broken down into the following chapters:

  • Introduction
  • Chapter One: Fat Loss: Why Your Age Is Not Against You
  • Chapter Two: The Hormone Reset for Rapid Fat Loss
  • Chapter Three: The Ketogenic Way to Rapid Fat Loss
  • Chapter Four: 7 Day Meal Plan
  • Chapter Five: The HIIT Way to Rapid Fat Loss
  • Chapter Six: Fat Loss Life Skills
  • Chapter Seven: Now, It’s Up To You!
  • References
  • Appendix One: Meal Plan Recipes

As with most weight loss books, this one spends the first couple of chapters explaining how the body processes food, how hormones work and how most weight loss systems fail people.

the faith diet scamBy chapter three, the book gets around to the main point of the book and the nature of the system.  The Faith Diet is a ketogenic diet, or “keto,” as they’re popularly known.

A ketogenic diet is one that is heavy on the protein and fat, but light on carbs and sugars.

By consuming a diet that is fat-heavy and carb-light, your body will be forced to turn your existing fats into energy.

Keto diets, and variations on them, have been popular for the past 25 years or so, but there are a lot of new variations that have come along recently and I’ve reviewed several of them in the past few months.

The method can work, though the biggest obstacle for most people in trying to lose weight through keto is trying to find enough variety in the diet.

It might sound like fun to eat bacon all the time, but bacon at every meal will get old in a hurry.

Fortunately, the Faith Diet tries to work around this by offering a 7 day meal plan, with every meal for each day of the week spelled out for you.

The book also recommends an exercise regimen, which is something that a lot of weight loss programs leave out.

This exercise regimen is based on “HITT,” or High-Intensity Interval Training, which involves exercises that are intense in action but brief in duration.

the faith diet simon whiteThe program offers a number of exercises that are simple to do, and most of them will not require any special equipment.  This is a plus, and if you use this system, you will definitely want to do the exercises to get the most out of the program.

The meal plan also includes recipes for the meals you’ll be preparing, and they certainly sound tasty.  They also appear to be relatively easy to prepare and won’t require you to go out and buy a bunch of strange ingredients.

Some sample recipes included in the meal plan are:

  • Avocado Baked Eggs
  • Maple Flavored Pork Bake
  • Tandoori Chicken
  • Bacon Chili Burgers
  • Orange Tequila Steak

By following the meal plan, you won’t have to worry about counting carbs, calories, or grams of fat.  Just prepare the meals and eat the recommended portions (while doing the accompanying exercises, of course.)

The book is well-written and doesn’t deviate from what I’ve seen in other books based on ketogenic diets.

What I thought was interesting is that the book makes no mention of the Bible at all!  In fact, the word “Bible” doesn’t appear in the text of any of the book’s 88 pages.

I also wondered why “former” priest Simon White is appearing in the video dressed as a priest.

And I couldn’t help wonder why the author of a Bible-based weight loss program would recommend that you prepare all of your meals on Sunday, a proscribed day of rest.

Those quibbles aside, the weight loss plan described in the book will probably help you lose weight if you follow the plan as written.

On the downside, there are only seven days of recipes included in the book.  A month’s worth would have been better.

The Faith Diet Pricing

The Faith Diet is priced at $37, which is a common price point for weight loss books.  This price includes the main book and the four bonus books.

About the Author

The author, Simon White, says that he’s a former priest who served as a military chaplain during the first decade of the 21st century.  Other than that, I don’t know much about him.
