The Slim Down in 21 Days program is a bit different from others I’ve reviewed, in that it places a lot of emphasis on keeping a journal. This is true for both what you eat and for what you do during your exercise routines. There’s a reason for this – while most people who go on a diet set some sort of weight loss goal, such as “I want to lose 50 pounds,” those goals are often not met because it’s such a lofty goal that people think they can’t achieve it.

When they try a weight loss program for a few days and then fail to see massive results, they get discouraged and quit. This happens a lot, and the difference in the Slim Down in 21 Days program is that it’s about taking small steps. Yes, it might be nice to lose 50 pounds. But it will also be nice to lose 3 pounds this week. No, 3 isn’t 50, but if you lose three pounds every week for four months, you will lose 50 pounds.

That’s why Slim Down in 21 Days stresses the importance of keeping a journal. If you keep track of what you eat, and try to do a bit better every day, or keep a journal of how you work out, and try to add a few additional reps, squats or jumps each week to your routine, you will see improved results in time.

Slim Down in 21 Days scamMuch of the Slim Down in 21 Days program covers exercise, with nutritional advice given only in relatively general terms. You won’t find recipes or meal plans in the program, so if you’re the sort of person who needs to be told exactly what to eat and when to eat it, you will probably not find Slim Down in 21 Days to your liking. On the other hand, if you’re the creative sort who can take some basic nutritional advice and run with it, then you’ll do OK.

The exercise material comprises a large part of the main book and most of the bonus books, as well. The author stresses the importance of a balanced workout, consisting of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) as well as cardio and bodyweight resistance training. The key, as with everything else in the Slim Down in 21 Days program, is both moderation and balance. You want to get a wide variety of exercise, rather than over-emphasizing one particular type of workout.

The workout video that’s included is short, running about 8 minutes. A young woman named Stephanie shows a number of exercises that you can do that are easy to do and which don’t require any special exercise equipment. All in all, the Slim Down in 21 Days offers a good approach to losing weight. I noticed a few typographical errors in the book, but they were all relatively minor. The book is well written and I think many people will benefit from the program, especially given its reasonable price.
