This series of books says that you can learn how to get your hormones back in balance, and that will lead to losing weight, looking younger, feeling less tired, and even improving your sex drive. That sounded promising, so I thought I’d take a closer look and see what the Power of Hormones is all about. Is Power of Hormones a scam?

Power of Hormones Overview
The Power of Hormones is sold as an ebook in PDF format. You can download the book immediately after purchase, and PDF books can be read on most any computer device. You can also print them out if you’d like to go old school and read them as you would a regular book.
When you purchase the Power of Hormones, you’ll receive the following:
- The Power of Hormones ebook
- The Bloat Banishing Solution ebook (10 pages)
- Double Your Energy ebook (12 pages)
- Eating for Hormone Health ebook (41 pages)
The Bloat Banishing Solution book and the Double Your Energy Guide are two short books with some quick tips to help you flatten your belly and find ways to feel more energetic. They’re nice bonuses, though I wouldn’t regard them as essential.
The Eating for Hormone Health book is a good overview of the sorts of foods that you should be eating (as well as those you shouldn’t) if you want to have the optimum hormonal balance. Most of the food recommendations in the book are in line with those found in other diet books – stay away from sugars, alcohol, complex carbs, etc., while eating lots of vegetables and healthy fats. A few of the recommendations, however, are tailored specifically for the needs of women, and deviate a bit from some of what I’ve read in other weight loss books.
The book also has a two week meal plan, complete with shopping list. You can easily prepare these tasty and healthy meals using the instructions provided. Be aware that as the author lives in New Zealand, all of the measurements in the recipes are expressed in metric units.
As for the main Power of Hormones book itself, it comes in at roughly 140 pages, and offers the following chapters:
- Chapter One: The Vital Importance of Hormones
- Chapter Two: The Thyroid Puzzle
- Chapter Three: Adrenal Chaos
- Chapter Four: Sex Hormone Devastation
- Chapter Five: Obstacles to Wellness
- Chapter Six: Choose a Balanced Lifestyle!!
- Chapter Seven: The Pancreas-Diabetes Connection!
- Chapter Eight: The Leptin Solution!
- Chapter Nine: The Ghrelin Gremlins
- Chapter Ten: The Darkness Hormone
- Chapter Eleven: Smile to Survive
A good portion of the Power of Hormones is devoted to explaining to you how hormones work and how your thyroid gland, adrenal gland and pancreas work. Most of the time, when I see these sorts of chapters, I think that the author is padding out the book. I’ve read diabetes diet books where half of the book is devoted to “what is diabetes?” for instance. In that case, anyone who is likely to buy the book knows about the disease, or they wouldn’t be buying.
That’s not the case in the Power of Hormones, though. Most people likely don’t know much about hormones, the glands that produce them, or the effect that they can have on their bodies. While both men and women have hormones, women seem to be more susceptible to the unwanted results of slight hormonal imbalances, which can lead to weight gain, fatigue, and lack of sex drive.
The advice given in Power of Hormones is good general advice that anyone would be wise to follow. There are some dietary recommendations, along with some meal plans in the bonus Eating for Hormone Health book. There are some specific recommendations for vitamins and dietary supplements. These can vary, depending on your specific problem.
All in all, the Power of Hormones is a well-written set of books that gives a good overall explanation of the function of hormones in our bodies, how eating the wrong foods or engaging in certain bad habits can affect your hormone levels and your health, and explaining how some relatively small changes in your lifestyle can make a big difference in your overall health.
If you think you may have a hormonal imbalance, this could be an indication of a serious health problem. You should discuss any health matters with your doctor before trying any of the suggestions in Power of Hormones. That’s just common sense. That said, Power of Hormones is a pretty good book and I think most readers would benefit from it.
