This program combines diet and a very time-efficient workout program to push your body into what Gavin calls the “Hot Zone,” where you’ll lose weight in a hurry. This all sounds interesting, especially when he says that the program takes just 19 days from start to finish. I decided to take a closer look and see what the fuss is all about. Is Lean in 19 a scam, or is it the real deal?

Lean in 19 Overview
This is a hybrid course; it consists of a combination of books in PDF format and downloadable workout videos in MP4 format. The downloadable nature of the product means that you can download it immediately after purchase, regardless of the time of day. PDF files can be viewed on just about any computer device, including many smartphones.
When you purchase, you’ll receive the following:
- Lean in 19 Rapid Fat Loss Blueprint (main book)
- Workout Manual
- Quick Start Guide
- Follow-along workout videos
- Daily motivational email messages
- Stubborn Fat Protocol book
- Success Journal
- Emotional Eating book
Emotional Eating is a 25 page book and journal that helps you avoid temptation eating and allows you to document the times when you indulge. The Stubborn Fat Protocol book is a 95 page book that offers some extra exercises to help you shed those “stubborn” unwanted pounds.
The Workout Manual is a 95 page book that gives you day by day listings of the exercises you should be doing. This accompanies the videos, which I’ll discuss later on.
The main Lean in 19 book is 63 pages, and this book describes the overall program, and gives you the background of what you’ll be doing and why. The program is a mixture of changing your diet and engaging in regular exercises. The exercises are brief; running 10-30 minutes per day, and they don’t require much in the way of equipment. That means you can do the exercises just about anywhere and you won’t need to have a gym membership or own a bunch of exercise gear to to do them.

The Lean in 19 diet is a hybrid of several different programs I’ve seen over the years, but basically involves eliminating certain types of foods from your diet, while including many “good” foods. You’ll know which ones need to go – alcohol, caffeine, sugars, processed foods and most grains. Instead, you’ll be eating lean meats, nuts and lots of vegetables. There’s no proper meal plan per se with the program, but you do get some good overall advice for what you should be eating and when.
To kick start your weight loss with the Lean in 19 program, you’ll begin with a five day cycle that includes a couple of days with an 18 hour fast, a high carb day, a low carb day, and a cheat day. After that, you’ll be on a “regular” diet that consists of the sorts of foods that you already know that you should be eating, but aren’t.
The book is well-written, and I was surprised to see that Gavin doesn’t devote a lot of space to trying to sell you a bunch of health supplements. He mentions a few in passing, such as Omega 3 fatty acids, but unlike a lot of weight loss programs, the author doesn’t devote half the book to trying to persuade you to buy other products.
The workout videos are quite well done, and you can either download them in MP4 format or you can wait for your daily email message from Gavin where he includes a link to that day’s workout where you can watch the video online. The downloadable files are quite large, but they’re also of very high quality.
It would be nice if Gavin had offered the videos for download in multiple formats, such as one that’s optimized for mobile, but that doesn’t seem to be an option at the moment.
This program is quite well done and well organized. Most people won’t find the diet to be overly restrictive, and the exercises are easy to follow along with. If you follow the program as described, I think most people will find good results. All in all, given the price, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better weight loss product on the market.
Pros and Cons
- Well written books
- Excellent video quality
- Good nutritional advice
- Very affordable
Cons
- Too many books – one or two would have done nicely
- Videos not available in multiple formats
Lean in 19 Summary
The exercises are easy to do, don’t take up much time and don’t require special equipment. If you’re interested in losing weight and getting fit, and you don’t have a lot of spare time and don’t have a lot of money to spend, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better program than Lean in 19.
Lean in 19 is highly recommended.
