There are many reasons why people would like to lose weight but can’t. They don’t want to exercise a lot. They don’t want to eat a strange diet…for a really long period of time. They don’t want to give up foods they enjoy. All of these things add up, but the real reason that people don’t lose weight is that they’re resistant to change. Most diet plans require some sort of significant change in lifestyle and most people just aren’t willing to do that.
Craig Ballantyne’s 6 Minutes to Skinny program takes a different approach, and says that you can lose weight with minimal fuss that involves just 6 minutes of time every day. That sounds pretty simple and if the method is sound, then a lot of people could benefit from it. Many already have, as the 6 Minutes to Skinny program has been selling well for several years now. But what’s it about? Is 6 Minutes to Skinny a scam?

6 Minutes to Skinny Overview
6 Minutes to Skinny is a hybrid course, consisting of a series of ebooks and a few online videos. The ebooks are sold in downloadable PDF format, and they can be read on just about any kind of computer device, including smartphones and tablets. The videos are online and can be viewed there or downloaded, but they’re largely optional, as the exercises shown in the videos are also explained in detail in the books.
When you purchase the 6 Minutes to Skinny system, you’ll receive the following books:
- 6 Minutes to Skinny book
- 7 Day Fast Start book
- 2 Minute Breakfast Meals book
- Perfect Nutrition Program book
- 8 Week Guide chart
- 4 Minute Miracles exercise book
You’ll also receive access to the online videos; these are videos of the exercises outlined in the 4 Minute Miracles book. All of these books could have been combined into one, but most weight loss products these days are sold as multiple books, largely to give the impression that you’re getting more for your money. Of course, if the program works, then it really doesn’t matter how many books there are, does it?
The 7 Day Fast Start book is the best way to begin, as it offers a brief explanation of each of the other books, so you’ll know what’s what. That book is 17 pages long, and gives you a good overview of the program. The 6 Minutes to Skinny book is quite short at about 10 pages, and it, too explains what the program does and why you’re going about it the way you are.
The Perfect Nutrition book gives you an explanation of what, in the author’s opinion, constitutes a healthy diet, and lists the sorts of foods that you should be eating on an ongoing basis after you complete the 6 Minutes to Skinny program so you can continue to keep the weight off. You’ll be eating lots of protein and vegetables and as usual, dramatically reducing your consumption of dairy, grains and sugars. You’ll also be drinking lots of water, but you’re already doing that, right?
The 4 Minute Miracles book is 38 pages of short but intense exercises that you’ll be using throughout the 6 Minutes to Skinny program. These exercises are thoroughly explained and are accompanied by images from the videos so you can see how to do them. The exercises are all easy to do and don’t appear to require any special equipment, nor do they require that you have access to a gym. This makes it easy for anyone to do them, which is a huge incentive.
The videos will also show you how to do the exercises, though I found the explanations in the book to be sufficient. These exercises are easy and they’re well-explained.
As for the primary goal of the 6 Minutes to Skinny program, it’s about retraining yourself to eat what your body wants, when your body wants it. According to the author, our bodies go through regular cycles, and if we can get our diets and our exercise to coincide with those cycles, we’ll lose weight.
So what happens in those 6 minutes that you’ll spend on the program every day? You’ll wake up, you’ll drink a breakfast shake, and you’ll do four minutes of exercises. Really. That’s it. The shakes are a bit complex; that is, they have multiple ingredients from various food groups, making them both tasty and nutritious. Don’t worry; you won’t have to drink the same thing for breakfast every day, as the included 2 Minute Breakfast Meals book that comes with 6 Minutes to Skinny includes recipes for 35 different smoothies. That means that you won’t have to repeat one within a month unless you want to.
The exercises are also varied, as there are 14 different workouts involved in the program and these are all listed in the 4 Minute Miracles book. The 8 Week Guide chart that comes with the program will allow you to see which of the workouts you need to be doing on any given day.
All in all, the 6 Minutes to Skinny program offers a good explanation for what you’re doing, does not make the eating part of the program overly complex, and offers a variety of brief, but intense, 4 minute workouts. By keeping everything brief, the author helps ensure that you’ll stick with the program. After all, mixing the shake and doing your exercises will only take 4 minutes a day. If you try this program and stick with it, I think you’ll find good success.
